Elissa is currently working on two projects: one investigating the nature and efficacy of palliative care consultations in medical settings. Her other project aims to create and pilot a web-based tool to help older adults and their adult children plan for the future. Elissa's past project investigated preferences and attitudes towards aging and care in straight and LGBT communities. 

Before coming to Wash U, Elissa worked on community based depression studies in homebound older adults.
